About official merch from NYC & NJ music venues
Wear the room. Every shirt here is sold by the venue that printed it, and the money goes back to the stage.
Why Merch Row exists
New York and New Jersey’s independent music venues are where bands play their first show in the city, where scenes start, and where you saw the night you still talk about. The shirt from that room means more than any tour tee — it says you were there.
Finding the real one is harder than it should be. Search for a venue’s t-shirt and the first page is print-on-demand sites and marketplace sellers using the name, with the venue’s own store buried or missing. Those sites have no connection to the room, and none of the money reaches it.
Merch Row puts the official merch from the region’s venues in one place — from Carnegie Hall and the Apollo to Pianos, TV Eye and the Stone Pony — and sends you straight to each venue’s own store to buy it.
Buy direct, support the room
Merch is one of the few things that keeps a small venue going between sold-out nights. Buying from the venue’s own shop is the difference between supporting a room and supporting someone who copied its logo. There is no middleman here: no cart, no mark-up, no cut. You check out with the venue.
What you’ll find
T-shirts, hoodies, hats, totes and posters from 20 venues across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and New Jersey. Some of the best pieces are the one-offs: artist-designed shirts, anniversary runs, festival merch and collaborations. Venue runs are small and rarely reprinted, so when something sells out it usually stays gone.
The rooms that only sell at the door
Plenty of great venues print merch but sell it only at the merch table on show nights. They are listed on venues that sell at the door, so you know to bring a card or cash and get there before the headliner.
Questions
Is the merch on Merch Row official?
Yes. Every item is sold by the venue itself, on the venue's own online store or the shop it uses to sell its merch. Nothing here is a reprint, a marketplace listing or print-on-demand.
Do I buy from Merch Row?
No. Merch Row sells nothing and takes no cut. Every buy button goes straight to the venue's store, so you check out with the venue and your money goes to the room.
Which New York music venues sell merch online?
20 New York and New Jersey venues sell official merch online, including the Stone Pony, Pianos, the Apollo Theater, Carnegie Hall, Blue Note, Saint Vitus, TV Eye and Arlene's Grocery. Every one is listed on the venues page with a link to its real store.
Why can't I find Bowery Ballroom or Brooklyn Steel merch online?
Some of the city's best-known rooms — 30 of them, including Bowery Ballroom, Brooklyn Steel, Webster Hall and Music Hall of Williamsburg — only sell merch at the merch table on show nights. A shirt with one of those names for sale online is almost always an unofficial reprint.
How do I know my money reaches the venue?
Because you are buying from the venue's own store. Unofficial reprint sites print a venue's name on demand and keep all of the money; buying direct is the only way the room sees it.
Is venue merch a good gift for a music fan?
It is the best one: a shirt from a room someone loves says they were there. Start with their favourite venue, or browse the 126 pieces under $25.
Are prices and stock up to date?
Prices, photos and stock are refreshed every morning from each venue's store. Something that sells out during the day can still show until the next morning, so the venue's store has the final word.
Who handles shipping and returns?
The venue. You check out on its store, so shipping, sizing questions and returns go to the venue, exactly as if you had found the store yourself.
What counts as venue merch?
Anything branded for the room itself — tees, hoodies, hats, totes, posters, pins. Band tour merch, team gear sold at arenas, records and gift-shop souvenirs are left out.
Know a store we’re missing?
Venue stores are easy to miss — they often live on another website, unlinked from the venue’s own. If a room on the at the door list has an official store, a price has moved, or a venue is missing entirely, tell us and it goes in the shop.
